Hedges, vegetation and boundary fences encroaching on pavement on SW side of B3054 between Mayfield Road and St Vincent’s

Reported via mobile in the Vegetation Encroachment category anonymously at 12:48, Tuesday 9 June 2026

Sent to Island Roads 7 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16318911.

The trees, hedges, general vegetation, earth banking and old broken fences have been gradually encroaching on to the designated pavement for several years. It is now impossible for two pedestrians (including the many school children who walk this route) to pass each other comfortably. This is even more difficult if they have prams, wheelchairs, mobility scooters or are visually impaired. This problem often results in pedestrians stepping out into the busy main road, which is not safe.
