Recurring annual problem that causes my house to vibrate when buses or heavy vehicles go past
Reported via mobile in the Ironwork Collapsed category anonymously at 22:17, Wednesday 20 May 2026
Sent to Island Roads 10 hours, 21 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16317470.
This has happened before and the repair was ineffective for long as the tarmac has already broken down. I live on parkhurst road at the top near where the HSS shop was so buses are a regular feature on the road and other large vehicles. When these large vehicles hit this manhole it causes my house to vibrate and recently decorated areas and new windows with sills etc are already showing signs (cracks) due to this movement. When it was fixed before this vibration stopped so it needs repairing again asap. It is especially noticeable at night when in bed when a bus goes over the manhole as feel house shake. It's not just larger vehicles as depends on wear its hit, but more noticeable. This is a recurring problem.
