Drain lid cover, drainage, path between no26 and 23 church path

Reported via mobile in the Ironwork Corroded/Damaged category anonymously at 10:57, Fri 1 August 2025

Sent to Island Roads 17 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16296212.

This has been reported to you by Southern water after we called them out when the drain cover popped off leaving the drain open in the middle of the footpath with poor nightime lighting. After yesterdays torrential rain the the cover has popped off again exposing the hole and this time all sorts of debris is now scattered in the path. The drain would appear to have some sort of blockage causing the water to back up during heavy rain events. Concern is that someone will put a leg down the exposed drain. The cover has been put back in place to stop immediate issue but simply screwing it down is not effective as this was done last time. This was reported previously in late jan or early feb 2025

  • This issue has been referred to another Isle of Wight Council department.

    State changed to: Internal referral
