Pedestrian crossing lights confusing

Reported via desktop in the Traffic Signal Timing (perm) category anonymously at 11:50, Saturday 21 June 2025

Sent to Island Roads 1 day, 21 hours, 58 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16293414.

When walking down the western side of High Street towards the traffic lights (i.e. northwards), the light for the pedestrian crossing across the other (northern) side of High Street is very visible. One has to turn into Green Street to see the light for crossing Green Street. This can be confusing; the light on the northern side is often on green, so people think they can cross Green Street when in fact it’s not safe to do so. Is there anyway that the light on the northern side (i.e. the light for crossing the High Street) could be repositioned so that it is not visible as people walk down High Street?
