Traffic lights not needed

Could the three way traffic lights be changed to two way traffic lights I’m not sure why when the rod works have moved well past Uplands rod why the traffic lights are need on uplands road. Car could easily join queue to turn left with plenty of room or turn right and not need the lights at all.
