Sent to Island Roads 17 hours, 3 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16289829.
The issue was originally reported 31/3/25 ref 16288399. 9/4/25 the issue status was changed to fixed. On inspection today 27/4/25 the issue remains outstanding. The manhole cover water/sludge level has dropped several inches, however a large amount of water/sludge remains in the chamber. The sides of the chamber are still caked in the same mud as before as it has not been jet washed off (cleaned) and therefore cannot be inspected for leaks. We are trying to establish if the water/sludge in the chamber is leaking, which is causing the wall of the building adjoining, to have serious damp issues inside. The fact that the water/sludge issue has dropped several inches could imply that the manhole chamber is leaking and water is seeping out, causing our damp issue. We would be very grateful if this chamber could be fully cleared, the walls of the chamber jet washed (cleaned) and the chamber inspected for leaks, (as this leaking would explain the water/sludge level dropping several inches in the month that has now passed, and explain the reason for the damp wall) before we take action on repairing the serious damp issue to the adjoining wall interior. At the same time please could you clear and inspect the gulley drain in the kerb nearby. Both marked with traffic cones in the photo. Thank you for your help.
