Footpath between Medeway and Fairway obstructed by overgrowth
Reported via desktop in the Veg Impeding FW/CW category by Mr Jonathan Fitness at 12:48, Friday 25 April 2025
Sent to Island Roads 5 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16289740.
Due to reduction of maintenance standards of the footpath and surrounding overgrowth, the pathway is steadily being lost to fallen leaves, soil, ivy encroachment and tree/bush growth. It is dangerous, uneven and slippery in wet weather and the overgrowth is presenting a growing trip Hazard. The problem has been developing for several years and despite what is claimed by the people responsible for the maintenance, it isn't getting done. The last effort I witnessed was earlier this year and consisted of someone using a leaf blower to push dead leaves to the edge of the path where it immediately blew back to where it was moved from. Serious de-vegging needs carrying out and the material needs removing from the site. Streetlamps on the path are also obstructed by overgrowth.
