Manhole cover sinking and road surface breaking up

For the past year this issue has been getting worse and worse, especially when Lesson Road Ventnor was closed sending 8 buses an hour on this road.

The manhole cover located outside number 7 Ocean View Road, Ventnor has been sinking into the road and the road surface around it has been breaking up. This is resulting in a loud bang everytime vehicles pass over it, especially buses / LGV / HGV’s etc.

This issue needs to be looked at before it eventually causes the collapse of the road surface or manhole aperture itself.
