No Entry signs compromised

Reported via mobile in the Sign Dirty/Degraded category anonymously at 12:04, Saturday 18 January 2025

Sent to Island Roads 1 day, 21 hours, 2 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16283911.

Castle Street has two No Entry signs at its Union Street end. They have been obscured by what is presumably graffiti. Pedestrians are likely to assume the No Entry will be respected. Yet twice recently I have seen vehicles turning into it: a motor vehicle which had apparently driven up Union Street (against the one-way system) unexpectedly turned into Castle Street. And a pushbike and motorcycle coming from Church Lane and across into Castle Street. These appear to be examples of dangerous road use, but the obscured road signs are clearly not helping.
