Drainage

Reported via mobile in the Drainage Structure: Blockage category anonymously at 14:23, Friday 29 November 2024

Sent to Island Roads 1 hour, 27 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16281374.

Hi, the gully that is alongside the footpath at Belmont Lane with it's junction at Fairlee Road is partially blocked with a large amount of detritus. Most of this appears to be gravel deposited by the most recent flooding. Aside from the vast amount of collecting water here partially blocking the carriageway as is well known, it is now becoming an issue to the ground floor of my property at no.408 Fairlee Road. Given that this gully is barely able to cope under normal conditions, if it is partially blocked then there will be no chance if we get yet more heavy rain. I won't go into the reasons why this vast amount of water ends up there as it is already well documented, but I do feel this mound of stuff needs clearing before the next deluge.
