Overgrown verge next to footpath

Reported via mobile in the Hedge Untrimmed category anonymously at 12:59, Thursday 5 September 2024

Sent to Island Roads 3 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16275796.

Years of neglect in controlling weed and bramble growth has made this public footpath along the whole of Shanklin-Sandown coastal path look terrible. This has led to a loss of sea views and destabilising the cliff where sycamore trees are allowed to grow unchecked. (see photo of sycamore). I do wonder whether this neglect along with the excess rain has caused the extra cliff fall. These paths used to be properly looked after.
