Poor visibility due to hedge growth causing safety concern
Reported via desktop in the Hedge Oversized category anonymously at 17:05, Thursday 25 May 2023
Sent to Island Roads 11 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16242551.
St Pauls Church end; The hedge has grown about 14 inches towards the main road (Staplers Rd.) from the pavement/hedge border obscuring visibility. The slower growing Escalonia hedging has been overtaken by an Ash tree and an Apple tree which in future will likely cause stability issues with the pavement and the concrete road behind.
At the base the hedge borders have encroached onto the pavement and the concrete road and in the case of the latter now obscures the double yellow lines.
Similar issues exist at the lower end of the hedge, entrance / exit to the concrete road. possible different tree species encroaching.
It would be good if the hedging could be returned to solely Escalonia and the original hedge boundaries with the tarmac/ashfelt pavement (main road side) and the concrete road side re-established.

20thJuly2023; Hedge now obscuring vision to main road by 24-32 inches (>2'6") at the top exit of the access road and 32 inches (>2'6") at the bottom exit of the access road greatly obscuring and reducing vision of traffic on the main road to two car lengths when six car lengths required for stopping at 30mph. The hedge is providing greater problems for vehicles such as ambulances pulling out.
Please would you expedite the maintenance of the hedge and road/parking restriction markings?
Many Thanks Jim
