Noisy Manhole cover in the road

Sent to Island Roads 2 days, 13 hours, 47 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16242220.

Manhole cover outside 50 North Road is loose and clatters and bangs when vehicles go over it. It is causing a nuisance noise to residents in the area. The same cover had a similar problem a couple of years ago and was fixed, however it seems to need attention again.

  • This issue was reported 2 months ago. Itremains unresolved and has got much worse/more noisy. I have been in contact with Southern Water who are aware of the problem but advised that they are awaiting a permit to enable them to carry out the repairs. Please could you advise when this is likely to be issued to them as it is creating a disturbance to many households along the street. Thanks
