One foot pothole on Lower Road opposite BT telephone pole west of Meadow Cottage.

Sent to Island Roads 19 hours, 9 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16235279.

The pothole has appeared this month following the freezing weather as a result of water flowing down southern side of road. There is only room between the pothole and the northern road side for a normal car. The pothole is therefore repeatedly subject to the passage of lorries and farm vehicles which are digging the hole deeper and broader.

    Pothole is now 4' 6" long and 3' wide. Intact carriageway between pothole and grass verge is 6'. There is a ditch beyond the narrow grass verge on both southern and northern sides of the road. More precisely, the location is midway between the telephone and electricity poles. In the context photograph you can see safety posts with red and white reflectors marking the navigable extent of the roadway. There is daily multiple tractor traffic between Adgestone and Grove farms.
