Yesterday a learner driver stalled and missed the green light twice southbound at the High Street/Victoria Ave junction. The light then stayed red while three changes took place on each of the opposite lights. The learner's supervisor then took over and had to drive the car through the red light into Steephill Road to allow following traffic to trip the sensor. Can there not be a timer on the lights as well as a sensor in the road?
