Between the late evening of the 28 June and early morning 29 June due to heavy rain the road Yaverland Close was flooded, the surface water system was unable to cope with the volume of water which was backing up to the top of the close, the road was in fact a river. At a meeting with Southern Water’s investigation team it was advised that all the road gullies be cleaned and the network of pipes be inspected for blockages or damage. Also theirs a culvert that runs to the rear of the properties on Yaverland Close which runs into a culvert/ditch which runs across a farmers field all the surface water runs into this culvert which urgently needs to be inspected for any blockages or silting up.

There was a similar incident this morning 12 July urgent action need to be taken.
