The two drains located to the west of Mill Road are ineffective. The first photo shows that the drain is set too far back from the main drainage down the road so the majority of the water flows past the drain to the south (photo 1). I have occasionally used stones to build a bund to direct water into the drain, but these are subsequently removed. The next drain outside the New Inn Bus stop is also in the wrong position and the water passes to the north of the drain (photo 2). This results in erosion and flooding by the bus stop. The water then flows partially over Mill Road into the drains located on the east side of the road and partially toewards the south resulting in flooding outside the New Inn (photo 3). This problem has been around for some considerable time.
