As a regular visitor to my family in the area, this is becoming an increasing problem, particularly evenings and weekends; on the unlit, blind bend at the junction with Gagger Hill Lane, by what appears to be one business. On approach from Mottistone direction drivers, particularly tourists, are not aware that they will be forced into the opposite carriageway by the parked vehicles, they can then be faced with oncoming traffic, and pedestrians, cyclists, pushchairs, wheelchairs, etc.
Pedestrians, pushchairs, wheelchairs, vulnerable users, etc are forced into the live lanes of the road, because there is no pavement and all the parked vehicles are obstructing the side of the road, with no space for pedestrians to even squeeze through. There is also no way for them to avoid oncoming traffic from around the blind bend.
My family and I have witnessed a number of near misses, it is only a matter of time before there is a serious incident as a result of this business and home owners failing to consider other peoples safety. This is an unlit road, it is questionable if this parking on a blind bend, next to a junction is actually legal. Perhaps there is also a case for formal parking restrictions.
Like any other business, this owner needs to find off road commercial vehicle parking and home owners need to park off the road to ensure road safety.
