House shacking again
Reported via mobile in the Rough/Uneven or Surface Issue category anonymously at 11:24, Sunday 6 September 2026
Sent to Island Roads 22 hours, 12 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16326129.
This has been reported before and some remedial works have been done but the issue has returned where my whole house shakes when heavy vehicles pass over the repaired road. Our house is over 200 years old and I’m worried this is now causing structural issue. We have had burst pipes which we believed this issue caused. The material used for the repair is wrong and the bit of repair right outside our house by the pavement is not flat and is starting to sink which is why the house shakes. When there was temporary sign outside our house this week forcing the heavy goods vehicle to move over towards the middle of the road the issue disappeared. Can this be sorted ASAP before it causes more issues with our house. This issue only started after southern water had to dig up the road to replace the pipe under the road.
