Speed Limit Sign for Church Hill Conflicting with School Road
Sent to Island Roads 9 hours, 20 minutes later. Enquiry ref: 16325932.
The speed limit sign on Church Hill (30mph) is bigger and more prominent than the smaller 20mph sign on School Road. This is leading to people thinking they are entering a 30mph zone on School Road.
There are no painted 20mph indicators on the road surface and the 20mph sign on School Road is small and set into a hedge. The full size 30mph sign for Church Hill is facing traffic proceeding down School Road and after the smaller 20 sign.
Traffic routinely travels in excess of 20mph along School Road.
There needs to be painted 20mph circles on the surface of School Road and the 30mph sign for Church Hill needs to be relocated further up the hill, out of view from vehicles proceeding along School Road.
